The Pagan-Babylonian Origin of Easter
Ought not self-professed 'Christians' ask themselves what rabbits and eggs have to do with the resurrection of the Messiah? Or perhaps where the name "Easter" even comes from?
The name "Easter" originates from a Babylonian goddess named "Ishtar", who was also known as "Semiramis" in Babylon, "Ashtoreth" in Hebrew, "Astarte" in Greek, "Ostara" by the Norse, and other names in other cultures. Ishtar is a goddess of fertility. [1] And what do rabbits and eggs symbolize?
As with Christmas and many other allegedly "Christian" doctrines and practices, Easter is another example of pagan infiltration into the true religion of YHWH.
While the date of Easter sometimes falls near to Passover, it is sometimes weeks apart. Easter has acted as a substitute for the Passover observance.

Nimrod built and organized major cities. The Bible notes that these included Babel, Asshur, Nineveh and Calah (Genesis 10:10-12).

Thus, a terrible false religion developed with its sun and moon worship, priests, astrology, demonic worship, worship of stars associated with their gods, idolatry, mysterious rites, human sacrifice, and more.

Alexander Hislop, in his work The Two Babylons, says this of the origin of Lent:
"Whence, then, came this observance? The forty days' abstinence of Lent was directly borrowed from the worshippers of the Babylonian goddess. Origin of the Easter "hot cross bun" cakes
From Hislop's The Two Babylons:
"Such is the history of Easter. The popular observances that still attend the period of its celebration amply confirm the testimony of history as to its Babylonian character. The hot cross buns of Good Friday, and the dyed eggs of Pasch or Easter Sunday, figured in the Chaldean rites just as they do now. The "buns," known too by that identical name, were used in the worship of the queen of heaven, the goddess Easter, as early as the days of Cecrops, the founder of Athens--that is, 1500 years before the Christian era. "One species of sacred bread," says Bryant, "which used to be offered to the gods, was of great antiquity, and called Boun." Diogenes Laertius, speaking of this offering being made by Empedocles, describes the chief ingredients of which it was composed, saying, "He offered one of the sacred cakes called Boun, which was made of fine flour and honey."
The prophet Jeremiah takes notice of this kind of offering when he says,
"The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger." Jeremiah 7:18
And who is the "queen of heaven"? Semiramis/Ishtar/Astarte, as noted by Hislop and others:
"Then look at Easter. What means the term Easter itself? It is not a Christian name. It bears its Chaldean origin on its very forehead. Easter is nothing else than Astarte, one of the titles of Beltis, the queen of heaven, whose name, as pronounced by the people Nineveh, was evidently identical with that now in common use in this country. That name, aas found by Layard on the Assyrian monuments, is Ishtar."

Worship of Ishtar and Tammuz is an Abomination to YHWH
"And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim: And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger. And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth." Judges 2:11-13
Let's look at this passage from Ezekiel for a moment:"He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do. The he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz. The said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again and thou shalt see great abominations than these." Ezekiel 8:13-15
You see, the Lord is condemning this practice of worshipping Ishtar and lamenting for Tammuz, and calls it a great abomination Easter worship is an abomination to God. Let's reflect back upon the story of Ishtar and pick out some of the key points. Notice the resemblance of the story of Ishtar to that which is written in the Gospel about our Savior, Jesus Christ.
As Ishtar descended, she was stripped and humiliated; Jesus was stripped and beaten in humility. Ishtar was killed and hung on a stake; Jesus was crucified on a stake. Ishtar was resurrected after three days; Jesus rose from the tomb on the third day. By now it should be quite obvious to you why Easter is in fact the worship of Ishtar.
Satan has taken the truth about Christ and overlaid it with the worship of Ishtar, bringing it into the church through the traditions of men and presenting it as the celebration of Easter, a transliteration of the word Ishtar. Satan knew the purpose of this earth age and has tried repeatedly to subvert God's plan. He tried to corrupt the seed line in the garden so that Christ could not be born and die on the stake.
Satan failed at that attempt, so he used his offspring, Cain and the Kenites (the sons of Cain) to propagate false religions and myths that have a resemblance to the truth. In order to create confusion and disbelief so as to deceive God's children. For every positive there is a negative, and Satan is the Great Imitator.
Remember, Satan's whole thrust is to be worshipped as God. Let's for a moment review a few more of the characteristics of Ishtar, not losing sight of the story of Ishtar and what the ritualistic worship of her represented, the resurrection of the dead god. Ishtar was also known as the Queen of Heaven (there is a large denomination that openly prays to the Queen of Heaven). Ishtar was connected to the planet Venus, called both the "morning star" and the "evening star." Ishtar was worshipped as female in the morning and male in the evening. You should also note that in Isaiah 14:12, Lucifer, another name for Satan, is called the son of the morning. The name Lucifer itself means "the morning star." Ishtar is also called the goddess of fertility, from another one of her notorious legends. As the legend goes, an egg fell from heaven one day and landed in the Euphrates river. Some fish managed to roll the egg to shore, hence the tradition of rolling Easter eggs.
Then several doves (a symbol of the Holy Spirit) descended from heaven and incubated the egg and hatched the goddess Ishtar, the goddess of Easter. The egg became the universal symbol for fertility, and as such can be traced to pagan ritual and worship worldwide. Like the egg, the rabbit became part of the Easter tradition because it too was a symbol of fertility in ancient Egypt.

This increasing cooperation between Bangladesh and China effected India Bangladesh relations so much that Bangladeshi Foreign Secretary needed to give the statement that relations between Bangladesh and China will not effect relations of India and Bangladesh. China is doing cooperation with Bangladesh in sectors of Railway, Ports and making streets these days. China is also interested in investing on different sectors in Bangladesh in future. India is not happy with changing situation of the region and if US and Nato forces also left Afghanistan in next few months India will be even more problems.

The aftermath of the Second World War is just as convincing of the power of Jewry as the aftermath of the First World War. In the aftermath of the first conflict the Jewish delegations at Paris achieved some amazing things. These included the mandate over Palestine, the incorporation of the language of the Balfour Declaration in the text of the mandate, the minorities treaties in Central Europe and the Covenant of the League of Nations. But in the aftermath of World war Two, the Jewish achievement in power politics was even more amazing. First came the great Nuremberg Trial where the German defendants were hung during the Jewish high holidays of October 1946. But even more impressive was the immense army of "carpetbaggers" who followed the American and British armies into Germany. They were joined by a similar army of occupiers from the Soviet east. These occupiers wore British, American and Soviet uniforms but all displayed the same ethnicity. The Hungarian author, Louis Marschalko, describes the process in his extremely rare book, "The World Conquerors", published in English translation in 1958.
In Chapter Nine, "Revenge Is Ours", Marschalko writes:
"On May 9th, 1945, the revenge of Jehovah was turned loose over Europe. The planes of the British and American forces were still called 'liberators' but Eisenhower announced:
"We are not coming as liberators but as conquerors!'
But were the Americans, in fact, the real victors? In the wake of the advancing American forces a sinister fifth column followed, the members of which in ninety-nine per cent of the cases were not Americans. This revengeful army was made up of emigrants from Eastern European countries, of black market operators from Brooklyn ghettos, of Czech, Polish and Hungarian Jews who took refuge in London and of criminal inmates from the liberated concentration camps. They filled all major and minor posts in the C.I.C., organised according to the Morgenthau Plan, they swarmed in the O.S.S., in the various commissions searching for war criminals, as well as in the American security organizations. They became mayors of German towns and commandants of P.O.W. camps. They administered LaGuardia's U.N.N.R.A. They occupied key positions in the American forces and thus exercised control over them.
There were only 2,524 German war criminals on the original list of the U.N., but soon the C.I.C. and the American conquerors were conducting a search for one million German 'war criminals'. At first the Soviets wanted to shoot 50,000 Germans summarily, then they proposed to bring 200,000 'war criminals' to trial at Nuremberg.
Simultaneously, the conquering flood began to move eastwards. A mass of several hundred thousand released from the concentration camps surged toward Poland, Hungary, Roumania and Yugoslavia, to become officers in the Communist police forces and other terror organizations and to assume judicial powers in the people's tribunals and so be able to pass sentence upon innocent people in an orgy of revenge. They were welcomed with open arms by the Soviet MVD who were in control of the Eastern European countries. The pattern was everywhere the same. In the forefront there was either an American, a Soviet or a French general but in each case a Jewish deputy dogged his heels.
Actually, Europe did not fall under the Russians, British or Americans, but under Jewish occupation. Everything that had rightly or wrongly belonged to Europe for 2000 years now disintegrated. The avengers continued doing (but more cruelly) the very things they had set down as crimes against Hitler. This was no occupation by the forces of American democracy or Bolshevism but by those of a victorious Jewish nationalism glowing with hatred. Ensconced in key positions among the occupying powers, they were able to punish everyone, whether innocent or guilty. In their eyes there was but one crime to have opposed, or to be in a position to oppose, Jewish nationalism.
The Western and the Eastern Jew set out hand-in-hand to liquidate the Christian upper classes who had succeeded in escaping from Bolshevism. These were considered unreliable people. Vlassow's Cossacks, for instance, wanted to fight against Bolshevism. But whoever resists Bolshevism is actually fighting one section of the Jewish world-kingdom. These Cossacks knew very well who were the commissars of the collective farms (kolkhoz) before whom the Russian peasant had to go down on his knees. In 1940 they had seen the "Russian" MVD entering Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania and thus knew the Jews almost exclusively organized the deportation of tens of thousands of unfortunate people from these small Baltic states. These people were dangerous because they had witnessed certain things. These witnesses must be slain!
How can one account for the fate of Vlassov's Cossacks otherwise than by Jewish nationalism operating behind the visible power. How else could such inhumanity be accounted for when British democracy allowed armed military police to deploy against thousands of unarmed Cossacks."
Louis Marschalko here touches upon one of the great hidden secrets of the Second World War and the true identity of the conquerors. The British, Americans and Soviet Russians were merely the front men for the real power. Very little academic research has been done on the facts he recounts. It is one of those subjects that "respectable intellectuals" just do not delve into. Nevertheless, the facts are precisely as Marschalko recounts them. A Jewish terror did descend upon Europe after World War Two. This terror was as omnipresent as it has been little mentioned since. Whether it was Herbert Lehman or Fiorello LaGuardia running the UNNRA or Ana Pauker terrorizing Romania, it was, as Marschalko says, the terror of the Jew. Jews everywhere seized the finest properties in Europe. They lived it up at the expense of the defeated while portraying themselves as the greatest of martyrs.
None of this fits the story in the history books, which is why it is deleted. A few individuals, such as British general Sir Frederick Morgan and American general George Patton, tried to blow the whistle on what was going on but were quickly silenced. Morgan spoke of a huge flood of Jews pouring down the Balkans out of the Iron Curtain countries toward Palestine. At first the charge was denied but then admitted. Morgan was quickly removed and replaced for daring to tell the truth. General Patton wrote scathingly on how displaced person, meaning Jews, were living it up as virtual privileged saints in Germany after the war. What happened to Patton, and the reasons for it, is only too well known. Post World War Two Europe was a Jews harvest. "Survivors" proliferated in American and British uniforms; Jewish commissars dominated in Stalinist governments; refugees swarmed to the best hotels and UNRRA supply depots on their way to the Holy Land.
To investigate any of this in detail is to raise immediate questions about the Jewish extermination story. Thus, the rich and fallow territory of the Jewish conquest of post-World War Two Europe lies largely unexplored. In all probability that shall continue. The subject is loaded with historical dynamite.

Introduction
The subject of the name of our Heavenly Father is basically a very difficult one. It has been ingrained in us from childhood to call our Heavenly Father God, Lord, Jesus and all the other names we have learned. Now today we are going to have to do as the Messiah taught us, we have to become as little children.source
This particular subject is probably one of the most difficult subjects to actually practice in all the Kingdom Identity Messages. It is to repent and come back and get rid of all those old names that we have been taught by our mothers and our fathers and our schools and our churches all our lives. And admit to the fact that they may be wrong.

Isaiah 42:8 "I am YHWH (Strong's Hebrew Word #3068, YHWH): that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images."
Psalms 83:18 "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is YHWH, art the most high over all the earth."
Psalms 68:4 (KJV) "Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him."
Note here the KJV uses the word "JAH", which is translated from Strong's Hebrew Word #3050, which is a contraction of Hebrew Word #3068.
The KJV should have tranlated the above as "Yah", as there was no "J" sound in Hebrew. "Yah" is the last part of the word "halleluYah." HalleluYah is the most ancient of all words of praise and means "praise Yah."
YHWH’s Name Has Been Edited Out of Most Bible Translations
Yahweh’s Name doesn’t appear even one time in the text of the three most popular English Bible translations on the market today. The King James Bible, the New American Standard Bible, and the New International Version substitute the titles “LORD” and “GOD” with all the letters capitalized where the Name “Yahweh” actually belongs. Jewish religious leaders introduced this tradition in the mid-2nd century B.C., and it has continued since that time. This man-made tradition, which achieved near-universal acceptance in 1611 A.D. when the King James Bible editors failed to include the Name ”Yahweh” in their inaugural edition, is wrong and dangerous for two reasons. First, it nullifies Yahweh’s explicit command to tell the world that we have only One God—Yahweh. Second, according to the Bible, Yahweh is the only Name in which we have salvation. [2]

In today's modern translations, ALL the place names and the personal names, which originally bore the glory of Yahweh's Name, have been changed; every trace of Yahweh's Name is hidden. The result of this is: a student can read the majority of the later English translations of the Scriptures, and the NAME of the ONLY ONE Who inspired those Scriptures to be written, is not even hinted at!
According to the inspired prophecies, the Messiah's Name was to MEAN: Yahweh is Salvation; which is exactly what the Name Yahushua means!
Joshua means "YHWH is Salvation" (Strong's). The Savior was named Yahushua because that is what the angel said it was supposed to mean. Yahushua literally means YHWH is salvation: "He (YHWH) shall save His (YHWH's) people from their sins." Psalm 100 and Strong's concordance or your dictionary will confirm this fact. [3]
Bible Translators and Scholars Acknowledge the Name of the Creator is YHWH
In the introduction to the Moffatt Translation (pp. 20-21), James Moffat makes it clear that he would have no hesitation about using the Name Yahweh in his translation if he had intended it for students of the original Scriptures.
We find in the preface to the Goodspeed translation: "The Hebrews called their deity by the name Yahweh, and in shorter form Yah." This source admits to using substitutes for the Name Yahweh.
The Revised Standard Version says at Exodus 3:15, "The word of the LORD when spelled with capital letters stands for the divine name YHWH, which is here connected with the verb hayah, to be."
The New Catholic Bible (Catholic Bible Press), at Exodus 3:14 notes, "I am who I am" ; apparently this utterance is the source of the word Yahweh; the proper, personal name of the God of Israel... , Out of reverence for this name the term 'Adonai,' 'my Lord,' was used as a substitute. The word Lord in the present version represents this traditional usage. The word Jehovah arose from a false reading of this name as it is written in the current Hebrew text."
In the International Bible Encyclopedia of the King James Version published by Garden City Publishing Co., we note the following under the heading "Jehovah": "It is believed that the correct pronunciation of this word is 'Yahweh.' "
In the Jewish Encyclopedia (volume 7, p. 88) is this revealing statement: "The reading Jehovah is a comparatively recent invention. Jehovah is generally held to have been the invention of Pope Leo the 10th's confessor, Peter Galatin (De Arcanis Catholic Veritates 1518, Folio XLIII), who was followed in the use of this hybrid form by Fagius Drusius."
A new Standard Bible Dictionary states, "Jehovah... properly Yahweh... the form 'Jehovah' is impossible, according to the strict principles of Hebrew vocalization." (There was no "J" in the original Hebrew, nor in Greek for that matter. Modern Hebrew has no "J".)
From the preface to the Holy Name Bible, published by the Scripture Research Association, is the following: "Another common error among most of the translators is their elimination of heaven's revealed Name of the Most High, Yahweh, and the Name of His Son, Yahushua the Messiah, and the substitution of the names of the local deities of the nations among whom they dwelt (Psalm 96:5), expressly transgressing Yahweh's commandments as given in Exodus 20:7 and 23:13.
"The substitution of the Names Yahweh and Yahushua by the names of the pagan deities of the nations has brought immeasurable harm… By employing these names the people unknowingly turn the worship of Yahweh into that of idols and actually ascribe the benevolent characteristics of the Mighty One of Israel to the pagan deities (Hosea 2:8)."
On page 7 of this source we read, "His Name is composed of two parts: Yah-Hoshua (Savior). Thus the contraction Yahushua signifies Yahweh-Savior and strikingly bears out the logic of Matthew 1:21."

September 10, 2009 "Information Clearing House' -- The attacks on September 11, 2001 have been a defining moment for America. The political and psychological impact on Americans of a concerted and visible attack in America was enormous -- indeed, it is an interesting "coincidence" that the attacks occurred on the one day of the year whose mention reinforces a public sense here of danger and emergency: 9-1-1.
A significant development in the 1990s was the formation of the neo-conservative think tank known as PNAC (Project for a New American Century), whose members prepared position papers for the Israeli government and for a future US Administration sharing their views. That happened in 2000 with the election of George W. Bush, and a contemporary writer summarized the tip of the neo-conservative iceberg in his first Administration this way:
The "outsiders" from PNAC were now powerful "insiders," placed in important positions from which they could exert maximum pressure on US policy…PNAC had a lock on military policy-creation in the Bush Administration.
Especially significant in terms of subsequent events was the acknowledgement in one of PNAC's own documents that their program for America (and Israel) would not readily be accepted by the American people. What this meant, PNAC opined in 2000, was that "the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event -- like a new Pearl Harbor."
9/11 Reconsidered
On September 11, 2001, the PNAC people in and out of government -- and by extension AIPAC and Israel -- "coincidentally" got the event they needed, barely eight months after coming into office. Most people are familiar with the basic details of that day -- two commercial aircraft crashing into the two tallest buildings in New York City's World Trade Center (WTC), a third striking the Pentagon, and a fourth ending up in a Pennsylvania field. Few people will forget the images of the burning buildings, their collapse, the casualties, and the sense of shock and tragedy that ensued.
The official 9/11 Commission's work and report were at best an incomplete exercise. Many people dismiss the findings of the Commission, and that includes its co-chairs. Many others who utterly distrust the 9/11 Commission report, dismiss the US Government’s explanation of it, and point to both an official cover-up and an “inside job,” include veteran fighter pilots, EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians), air defense experts, experienced commercial pilots, demolition experts, architects and civil engineers – none of them professions that inherently attract and retain the gullible and credulous.
Several things are very clear to me from a careful assessment of both official and critical evaluations of the 9/11 attacks. First, the striking aircraft alone simply could not have brought down either of the two buildings in the manner in which they fell, much less a third building which was not hit by a plane (I expect the one intended to do that as a "cover" had ended up in that Pennsylvania field), given the available physical evidence and a wealth of expert testimony. This means the attackers had assistance on the ground, and it had to have been active before the attacks occurred: preparing buildings for controlled demolition is not something done haphazardly in the midst of chaos.
Second, only two intelligence agencies had the expertise, assets, access and political protection to execute 9/11 in the air and on the ground: our CIA and Israel's Mossad. Only one had the incentive, using the “who benefits” principle: Mossad. And that incentive dovetailed perfectly with the neo-con’s agenda and explicitly expressed need for a catalytic event to mobilize the American public for their wars, using American military power to destroy Israel’s enemies. Only the unexpected strength of the Iraqi resistance kept Syria and Iran from being attacked in the second Bush Administration. Thus, the evidential trail for 9/11 and the wars in Afghanistan & Iraq run from PNAC, AIPAC and their cohorts; through the mostly Jewish neo-cons in the Bush Administration; and back to the Israeli government. None of the denials and political machinations can alter that essential reality. Terms such as treason, betrayal and deceit do not overstate the case against them.
Finally, we need to take a hard look at why the mainstream media (MSM) have paid more attention to Sarah Palin’s wardrobe than they have to dissecting blatant falsehoods, discrepancies and inconsistencies in the US Government’s treatment of 9/11 and its aftermath. And the reason is that on this issue, all are on the same side, and the official line is the one they all prefer – “all” meaning the PNAC alumni who took over the Bush Administration’s national security apparatus and their counterparts in the Obama administration, AIPAC and the rest of the numerous Jewish PACs, the MSM owners and Israel. The depiction of the media management in America in 2002 is especially informative, and has not changed significantly since then:
CEOs and Directors of companies change as often as Boards of Directors vote. But if we could “freeze frame” the CEOs of the largest US Media companies in mid 2002, we would find that ten Jewish American men ran the vast majority of US television networks and other media companies including movies, radio, and publishing at that time. Not much has changed today.
Looking Ahead
Today we are getting the same line on Iran, from the same type of people -- Obama himself tries to be more independent, but most of the key staff and national security people in his Administration do not differ greatly on Israel and the Middle East from those of his predecessor. And the Congress has shown itself to be even more of AIPAC's lap-dog than the preceding Congress, an exercise in self-serving cowardice that admittedly has taken some doing.
But AIPAC and company are riding a tiger in America, and if they ever slip, the resulting convulsion will be catastrophic for them and for Israel. The open unfolding of the 9/11 tragedy and its ensuing wars that is now occurring can be that slip. The human cost to America to date is some 60,000 people, military and civilian, killed or wounded on 9/11 and in Iraq and Afghanistan together, with more to come once we go to war with Iran (or get dragged into it following an Israeli attack on Iran). Much of the deliberately misdirected rage that followed 9/11 has given way to endurance and grief.
But grief is a close cousin to rage, and an enraged America is not pretty, as anyone familiar with our history can appreciate. Americans are often deceptive without meaning to be. To much of the world, they often come across as naive, bumbling innocents in the world of global politics. And on a day-to-day basis, there is much truth to that.
But an enraged America is a very different character. You have only to look at what happened in WWII to German and Japanese cities, towns and villages, where America slaughtered literally millions of German and Japanese civilians -- most of them women and children -- knew it was doing it, and cared nothing at all. The goal was to crush, and restraint was not a word used much at all.
If these Americans and those like them ever fully understand just how much of their suffering -- and the suffering we have inflicted on others -- is properly laid on the doorsteps of Israel and its advocates in America, they will sweep aside those in politics, the press and the pulpits alike whose lies and disloyalty brought this about and concealed it from them. They may well leave Israel looking like Carthage after the Romans finished with it. It will be Israel’s own great fault.

Leaders likely to ask for repeal of US military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.
NEW YORK - A group of national and local Jewish leaders will likely adopt a resolution next week calling for the repeal of the US military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy on gay and lesbian soldiers.
The resolution, to be brought up Feb. 23 in Dallas at the annual plenum of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, calls the policy an "anomaly" and notes that most Western countries, Israel included, allow gays and lesbians to openly serve in the armed forces.
"The JCPA believes that gay, lesbian, and bisexual personnel should be allowed to openly serve in all branches of the military service subject to the same rules of military conduct that apply to all those who serve openly," the resolution says.
The text goes on to encourage constituents of JCPA -- an umbrella organization bringing together the synagogue movements, national Jewish organizations and local Jewish communities across North America -- to advocate for the policy's repeal and to foster dialogue with those of opposing views.
Rabbi Steve Gutow, the JCPA's executive director, told JTA that he had not encountered any significant opposition to the measure, which he expects to pass.
"I think there became a recognition that this was going to be an issue this year and we wanted to have a stand on it," Gutow said.
Indeed, after a year in which President Obama drew fire for his lack of movement on the issue, the president announced in his State of the Union address in January that he would be seeking a repeal of the law, which was adopted as a compromise measure in 1993. A week later, the country's top two defense officials also called for the law's repeal at a hearing on Capitol Hill.
The leader of the Conservative movement's synagogue arm already has publicly come out against the policy, as has the Reform movement's Religious Action Center.
"We know that sexual orientation is innate, and it cannot be God's will to give gay men and lesbians less dignity than God has given the rest of us," wrote Rabbi Steven Wernick, the executive vice president and CEO of the United Synagogue for Conservative Judaism, in the blog On Faith. "We believe strongly, therefore, that every American citizen, regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, or sexual orientation, should have the right to serve our country. And no American citizen should have to lie about the person he or she most loves."
Though the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" resolution may be the most publicly controversial issue on the JCPA agenda, Gutow said that most of the council's attention this year will be focused on the efforts to delegitimize Israel and the need to foster civil discourse in the Jewish community. Resolutions will be considered on both subjects.
The JCPA plenum, which runs Feb. 20-23, is expected to draw about 300 participants from 35 communities across the country, in addition to representatives of several national Jewish groups.
Among the scheduled speakers are Israel's ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, and the State Department envoy on anti-Semitism, Hannah Rosenthal. Oren is slated to address Israeli security, while Rosenthal will join Anti-Defamation League chief Abraham Foxman in a panel discussion on anti-Semitism.
Also on the speakers list is the former Clinton administration housing and urban development secretary, Henry Cisneros, and Kenneth Stein, an Emory University professor who resigned his position at the Carter Center in a protest over the former president's book on the Middle East.

To demonstrate the creeping impact of Holocaust denial, Ephraim Kaye urges a simple Google search. Type in the word “Holocaust” and see what pops up.
“Of the first 60 hits, a third are of Holocaust deniers,” Kaye says. “It’s out there and we cannot stop it.”
“We” is Yad Vashem, Israel’s venerated Holocaust museum, for which Kaye serves as director of international seminars. That makes him the institution’s top Holocaust educator.
Kaye, 58, was in the Bay Area this week lecturing about Holocaust denial and how to combat it. He spoke at Walnut Creek’s Congregation B’nai Shalom, among other places, on the scope of the problem, from the murderous views of Islamic radicals to the pseudo-academic claims of convicted Holocaust denier David Irving.
Because he is a teacher, Kaye quickly says that he is “an optimist.” He cites the thousands of teachers from around the world, Jewish and non-Jewish, his department has trained in Holocaust education.
He cites the international task force on Holocaust remembrance and education, which has partnered with Yad Vashem. The task force declared that the Holocaust should be taught in schools of the 26 affiliated nations.
And he cites the hundreds of Holocaust centers and museums around the world keeping alive the memory of the Holocaust and its victims.
Of course, the number of eyewitnesses to history’s greatest crime dwindles with each passing day. Kaye and his colleagues at Yad Vashem understand this very well.
“There is not a seminar at Yad Vashem where we do not incorporate Holocaust survivors,” he says. “We are rising to the challenge of what we are going to do” when there are no more survivors.
Part of the plan includes expanding the museum’s repository of testimonies — including partnering with Steven Spielberg’s Shoah Foundation, which has filmed thousands of survivors telling their stories.
Those testimonies are used to combat the relentless drumbeat of Holocaust denial, which has increased dramatically in Europe and throughout the Muslim world. Kaye says the advent of the Internet has spurred the spread of disinformation on the Holocaust.
As anti-Semitic, anti-Zionist and anti-Israel sentiment spreads, a countervailing boost in Holocaust education has helped keep the hate in check, according to Kaye.
“With most historic events, the impact fades over time,” he says. “But there has been an inverse interest [in the Holocaust]. As the years go by, there is more interest.”
Kaye’s interest in the subject dawned years ago as he grew up in Newton, Mass. While still in high school, he spent a summer on a kibbutz near Haifa, where he fell in love with Israel. After high school, he enrolled at Hebrew University to study history. He became religiously observant, made aliyah and joined an elite unit in the Israeli military.
As a paratrooper, he saw action in the 1973 Yom Kippur War. From there he became a high school history teacher specializing in modern Jewish history and the Holocaust. It was a natural leap to go from the high school classroom to the greatest Holocaust education opportunity in the world at Yad Vashem, which he joined in 1988.
In addition to the world-famous museum at Yad Vashem, the campus houses an international school of Holocaust education. That’s been Kaye’s stomping grounds. He not only brings educators to Israel — teaching the teachers — but he travels the world, meeting with educators and shoring up Holocaust curriculum for K-12 and college classrooms.
Because he believes so strongly in the mission of Yad Vashem, Kaye takes personally the phrase “Never Again.” To articulate that, he likes to quote writer and survivor Elie Wiesel, who spoke at the 2005 opening of the new Yad Vashem museum in Jerusalem.
Says Kaye: “Weisel said the Holocaust was not man’s inhumanity to man. It was man’s inhumanity to the Jews.”
