Is it fair to say you've changed the direction of the Conservative Party and are leading it away from Mrs. Thatcher?
Tony Blair changed the Labour Party, and that changed everything. It's difficult when someone adopts some of your language, but I've been reconnecting us back to modern, compassionate conservatism.
In this country Bush style "modern, compassionate conservativism" has launched the biggest welfare state since Leftist Lyndon Johnson's Administration in the 1960s.
It is well said that a house divided against itself cannot stand: The so-called "mixed" economy of capitalism and socialism means in the end that the taxes and bureaucracies grow larger year by year until one fine day it is announced that "English Socialism" INSOC -- is the new order.
I suppose in America that would be AMSOC -- American Socialism?
