Be they the direct ideological descendants of Marx, or just plain-vanilla Democrats, the truth is that an inordinate number of people on the left have deliberately broken with the social contract, cynically exploited guarantees of liberty and free speech (while denying it to others), and, ultimately, sought to undermine the entire democratic process in America.
Too many on the American left covertly and overtly supported America’s enemies during the Cold War. Too many condemned America and denied that millions were being enslaved and murdered by communist totalitarians, worldwide. Too many deliberately sought to destroy the democracies of the western and southern hemispheres. A large number of those American leftists were lifelong Democrats, or, for purely cynical reasons, Democratic Party supporters.
By and large, the Democratic Party is a ragtag coalition of disparate groups that runs the entire spectrum of the political left. No matter how much a particular radical group despises the United States, seeks to separate from it, or even works to destroy it, as long as it shows a willingness to vote for Democratic candidates, it is welcomed into the party with open arms. In the United States, such behavior is unique to Democrats.
