Iran Moving Closer To War With USA

Iran Double Dog Dares Us Iran continues its strategy of openly, flamboyantly daring the US to take military action, and even threatening to provide nuclear technology to the (literally) slave-driving Muslim dictators of Sudan. Iran's theocrats seem to be totally convinced that the Europeans, the UN, and the Bush administration have been so emasculated by Western defeatism that none of them will take action against Iran.

The oil markets remain unconvinced, with oil soaring to $75 per barrel,
reflecting an Iran "risk premium." Either that, or the oil markets think President Bush won't act and that things will get even worse once Iran has the bomb. Either way, the time for action is getting shorter and shorter. The sooner we bring down this regime, the easier it will be.
Ali Akbar Dareini, AP via New York Sun, April 25 Iran threatened on Tuesday to halt all cooperation with the UN atomic energy agency if the UN Security Council imposes sanctions, warning that Tehran might hide its nuclear program if the West takes any other "harsh measures."

Iran's supreme leader, meanwhile, said in a meeting with Sudan's president that Tehran was ready to transfer its nuclear technology to other countries….

Larijani's comments came a day after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad boldly predicted the Security Council would not impose sanctions and warned he was thinking about dropping out of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.

On Tuesday, Larijani said flatly that Iran would not abide by Friday's deadline….

He also hinted that sanctions or even what he called coercive language from the Security Council would cause Iran to speed up its nuclear activities….

Ahmadinejad appears to be banking on support from China and Russia to dissuade Washington from pressing a sanctions vote.
