DHS head Janet Napolitano favors plan for RFID chips in driver's licenses

Radio chip coming soon to your driver's license?

Homeland Security seeks next-generation REAL ID

WorldNetDaily | By Bob Unruh | February 28, 2009

Privacy advocates are issuing warnings about a new radio chip plan that ultimately could provide electronic identification for every adult in the U.S. and allow agents to compile attendance lists at anti-government rallies simply by walking through the assembly.

The proposal, which has earned the support of Janet Napolitano, the newly chosen chief of the Department of Homeland Security, would embed radio chips in driver's licenses, or "enhanced driver's licenses."

"Enhanced driver's licenses give confidence that the person holding the card is the person who is supposed to be holding the card, and it's less elaborate than REAL ID," Napolitano said in a Washington Times report.

REAL ID is a plan for a federal identification system standardized across the nation that so alarmed governors many states have adopted formal plans to oppose it. However, a privacy advocate today told WND that the EDLs are many times worse.

Radio talk show host and identity chip expert Katherine Albrecht said REAL ID earned the opposition of Christians because of its resemblance to the biblical "mark of the beast," civil libertarians opposed it for its "big brother" connotations and others worried about identity theft issues with the proposed databases.

"We got rid of the REAL ID program, but [this one] is way more insidious," she said.

Enhanced driver's licenses have built-in radio chips providing an identifying number or information that can be accessed by a remote reading unit while the license is inside a wallet or purse.

Ex UK 'security chief' - Right to privacy must be sacrificed in ongoing war against the British people

Errrrr, I mean for the phony 'war' against the muslim terrorists that Jewry ships in by the boatload and unleashes on the indigenous white British population.

Fight against terror must mean the end of ordinary people's privacy, says ex-security chief

The Daily Mail | By Tamara Cohen | 25th February 2009

Personal data of innocent citizens must be made available to the Government to combat terrorism, according to an influential former security chief.

Sir David Omand, Whitehall's former and security and intelligence coordinator, called for unprecedented Big Brother powers to allow access to private details - including phone records, emails and travel information - to be given to the intelligence services.

Setting out a hugely controversial blueprint for the future of national security he said 'moral rules' about individual privacy would have to be broken.
His 17-page report calls for the creation of a vast state database to gather information about terrorist groups which are increasingly recruiting and operating online.

But he argued that a citizen's right to privacy would have to be sacrificed to allow 'intrusive' intelligence techniques.

'Finding out other people's secrets is going to involve breaking everyday moral rules', he wrote.

'This is personal information about individuals that resides in databases, such as advance passenger information, airline bookings and other travel data, passport and biometric data, immigration, identity and border records, criminal records, and other governmental and private sector data, including financial and telephone and other communications records.'

'Modern intelligence access will often involve intrusive methods of surveillance and investigation, accepting that, in some respects, this may have to be at the expense of some aspects of privacy rights.'

UK gets its own Cheka - Sovietized jewish police state coming out into the open

Secret police unit set up to spy on British 'domestic extremists'

By Jason Lewis
07th February 2009

A secret police intelligence unit has been set up to spy on Left-wing and Right-wing political groups.

The Confidential Intelligence Unit (CIU) has the power to operate across the UK and will mount surveillance and run informers on ‘domestic extremists’.

Its job is to build up a detailed picture of radical campaigners.

Targets will include environmental groups involved in direct action such as Plane Stupid, whose supporters invaded the runway at Stansted Airport in December.
The unit also aims to identify the ring-leaders behind violent demonstrations such as the recent anti-Israel protests in London, and to infiltrate neo-Nazi groups, animal liberation groups and organisations behind unlawful industrial action such as secondary picketing.

Your papers please - Britain edges towards total police state - new law requires presentation of ID to police upon request

The Jewish powers-that-be claim that this new law is needed to "fight illegal immigration." Talk about chutzpah. Just how stupid do they think we are? The U.K. government has for years not only refused to enforce existing laws against illegal immigration, but has been secretly "legalizing" illegal aliens -- with those who expose this treason, like shadow immigration minister Damian Green, arrested and investigated for "terrorism." So think about it. If an indigenous white British citizen resists this tyranny, and refuses to lick the boots of the Jews and present their ID card to the JOGbot cops, they will be thrown in prison for 4 years. This for a law supposedly designed to prevent illegals from entering the country. Meanwhile...real illegal foreigners will by-and-large be given immunity from this law, and continued free reign to flood into the country and transform it into a Third World hell-hole. The Daily Mail
Big Brother police to get 'war-time' power to demand ID in the street - on pain of sending you to jailBy James Slack03rd December 2008State officials are to be given powers previously reserved for times of war to demand a person's proof of identity at any time. Anybody who refuses the Big Brother demand could face arrest and a possible prison sentence. The new rules come in legislation unveiled in today's Queen's Speech. They are presented as a crackdown on illegal immigration, but lawyers say they could be applied to anybody who has ever been outside the UK, even on holiday. [...]One broadly-drafted clause would permit checks on anyone who has ever entered theUK - whether recently or years earlier. Officials, who could be police or immigration officers, will be able to stop anyone to establish if they need permission to be here, if they have it, and whether it should be cancelled. No reasonable cause or suspicion is required, and checks can be carried out 'in country' - not just at borders. The law would apply to British citizens and foreign nationals, according to Liberty's lawyers. The only people who would be exempt are the tiny minority who have never been abroad on holiday or business. A second clause says that people who are stopped 'must produce a valid identity document if required to do so by the Secretary of State'. Failure to do so would be a criminal offence with a maximum penalty of 51 weeks in jail or a £5,000 fine. [...]

Britain moves even further towards a complete Orwellian police state; Spies to monitor all e-mails, phone calls, and text messages

And even though ~99% of the British public is against it -- just like the bailout bill among the American people -- the Jewish Establishment will ram it down their throats, not even going through the least bit of time or trouble to "sell" it to the public in order to give the pretense that "We the People" have absolutely any say whatsoever in the rule of our nations. We are now living under open despotism.http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/64725SPIES WILL TAP INTO ALL EMAILS AND CALLS Monday October 6,2008 By Macer Hall Political Editor ALL telephone calls, emails and text messages in Britain will be monitored under new Government snooping plans.A £12billion identity database at the GCHQ spy centre could even log every website visited by computer users nationwide. Hundreds of bugging probes will be installed in the telephone system and computer networks to monitor communications traffic. GCHQ has already been handed £1billion of taxpayers’ cash to begin developing the database. After the top-secret plans were leaked yesterday critics accused the Government of stalking the public. Michael Parker of anti-identity card group No2ID said: “It is a shocking intrusion into privacy. This is stalking. If an individual carried out this sort of snooping, it would be a crime.” Shadow Home Secretary Dominic Grieve said the proposal marked “a substantial shift in the powers of the state to obtain information on individuals”. And after a series of embarrassing security blunders including the loss of child benefit records for every family in the country, he questioned Whitehall’s competence to keep such data. He said: “Given the Government’s poor record on protecting data and seeing how significant an increase in power this would be, we need to have a national debate and the Government would have to justify its need.” The plan for the biggest surveillance system in British history is being spearheaded by GCHQ director Sir David Pepper. It is currently classified as top secret and is being developed under the title: Interception Modernisation Programme. The aim is to set up a “live tap” on every electronic communication in the country. At present, security service MI5 carries out limited monitoring of email exchanges and internet use. Ministers have been told that the latest computer technology lays the grounds of a massive expansion of monitoring. The database is likely to be centred at GCHQ’s famous “doughnut”-shaped spy centre in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Further details will be released when the Government’s legislative programme is announced in the Queen’s Speech in December. The plan is even more ambitious than the Identity Cards scheme being gradually introduced by the Government at a cost of £5billion. While a final decision has yet to be taken, ministers are understood to have agreed to the move “in principle”. Supporters of the scheme claim it will help combat terrorism, computer fraud and internet-based paedophile rings. [...]
